​​Founded in 2023 by Secretary General Maria Cecília S. and Vice Secretary General Maria Luiza N., the AleMUN Social Initiative (AleMUNSCI) aims to put into practice some of the UN's fundamental principles: the defense of human rights, equality and access to education for all. Since its creation, the project has established partnerships with Escola Pedro II and Instituto Apontar, allowing students from more schools to take part in our MUN conference. 

Last year, in order to expand the project, the Organizing Team, together with the school community, we formed a cooperation with the NGO Favela Orgânica. Throughout the event, we accepted donations of food products. After the conference, the Organizing Team assembled them into food parcels (=cestas básicas), which were donated to women in vulnerable situations in the Babilônia and Chapéu da Mangueira communities.

We kindly asked our colleagues to make donations according to the segment to which they belong. As for our invited delegates, we welcomed any contribution from the list below:

• Kindergarten: oil, salt, Maisena cookie or cream cracker 

• Elementary school: rice, beans, tomato sauce (in bags)

• Middle school: powdered milk, pasta, can of tuna 

• High school: coffee, sugar, chocolate powder
